Recommendations for grinding size of feed for fattening pigs and sows

Growth fattening pig refers to the pig for fat or plump breeding.Sows are females of any age who have given birth.Although they are pigs, in the actual feeding process, their feed is different, and this difference is first reflected in the crushing size.

1. Grow and fatten pigs

In a certain range of grain size, the conversion rate or weight gain efficiency of feed increases with the decrease of grain size.Feeding growing pigs with a grain size range of 1200 to 400 microns, with an average grain size reduction of 100 microns, provided a weighted feed ratio of 1.3%.Considering that the grain size is too small, which may lead to gastrointestinal damage in pigs, it is recommended that the optimal grain size is 500 ~ 600 microns.There are also claims in China for 1mm.Based on the experience of ruiqi machinery, it is recommended that the pulverized grain size of corn and soybean meal should be 500 ~ 600 microns, not more than 1000 microns (pig species should be considered).

2.The sow

The growth performance of sows can also be improved by comminting the grains in the diet.A study, the researchers use grinding to four kinds of particle size (1200, 900, 600, 400 microns) grinding corn with mixed diet feeding 100 head of the sow, the results showed that reducing particle size of feed digestibility of dry matter and nitrogen in the digestion rate to increase, digestion can increase by about 14%, a litter weight increased by 1%, and discharge waste by up to 21% of dry matter, nitrogen discharge decreased by 30%.Therefore, we suggest that the optimal grain size of sows' feed should be 500 ~ 600 microns, not more than 1000 microns.
