Suckling pig pellets cannot be made too hard, as they can seriously affect palatability.

In consideration of the physiological characteristics of the digestive tract of the suckling pig and the digestibility of the feed, a higher degree of starch gelatinization is required, so other methods are needed to appropriately reduce the hardness of the suckling pig feed. Generally speaking, the compression ratio of the pelletizing ring die is 6-8. If more puffed raw materials are used, the compression ratio can be 3, and the material produced in this way is crispy, but the powder rate is higher. After the extruded corn and soybean are pulverized, the pellet size is generally not a problem. Taking all factors into consideration, the pellet size of 400-600 μm is suitable.
