Effects of screening on pellet durability index (PDI)

Screening does not directly affect the PDI of feed pellets, but if the screening effect is not good, the powder in the packaged product will accumulate and reach the user, which is equivalent to reducing the PDI of the pellet feed, causing waste of feed. The vibrating screen classifier should adjust the amplitude of the screen body according to the nature of the material and the flow rate. The rotary classifying screen should choose a reasonable screen size and control the appropriate layer thickness to achieve the best results. The classifying effect should be controlled above 98%.

PDI (Pellet Durability Index) is one of the most important indicators reflecting the quality of pellet feed. It is used to measure the relative ability of pellet pellets to resist crushing during the transportation and handling process.
